Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Nestled in the Mountains

The map should make getting here very clear, the last three miles of road is gravel and although the road is maintained on a regular basis, it is steep and winding. You must share the road with hikers and bicycles. If your interested there is also a hiking trail 1169 that you can take from Mad Creek Village.

In the winter we recommend you use a shuttle service unless you are a professional driver on snow and ice. The Colorado State Patrol is not fooling around and will issue stiff fines for getting stuck on the road. It is illegal to drive the last two miles with out the appropriate gear, four wheel drive or chains are mandatory from November 1st to May 1st. Approximately 2 miles down there is a place to park and hike.

Have Fun but keep it safe and sane. Click on the map below for a larger version.

NOTE: Due to limited parking parking at the springs and winter conditions,
PLEASE consider a shuttle!
